Laser Distance Sensors utilize Time-of-Flight technology.

February 5, 2008 - Supplied in IP67-rated metal housing suited for harsh environments, S80 distance measurement sensors detect objects as small as 0.4 mm and operate over distances up to 7 m. Brightness of laser spot emission facilitates setup and alignment, and 4-digit display aids in parameter setup and checking. Along with 1 ms response time, sensors feature 2 PNP or NPN outputs, scaleable 4-20 mA output, and RS485 serial interface for remote monitoring and settings.

New IDEC Time-Of-Flight Sensors - So Precise, Even the Swiss are Jealous!

Sunnyvale, CA, January 25, 2008- When you need an accurate and precise distance measurement sensor, look no further than the S80 Time-of-Flight Class 2 laser distance sensor from IDEC. With the ability to detect objects as small as 0.4mm, this sensor can't be beat when it comes to precision. A fast response time of 1ms combined with accurate detection in a rugged and compact body, make this sensor the best on the market!

Time-of-Flight (TOF) technology is based on the measurement of the time between the emission and receipt of the laser light pulses. The amount of time the pulse takes to reach the target and return is measured and converted to a distance measurement. This ensures S80 sensors makes accurate distance measurements as far as 7 meters away, perfect for long-range applications.

And that's only the beginning, S80 is so much more! These sensors are user-friendly, rugged, compact and flexible. A bright laser spot emission makes it easy to set up and align the sensor as needed. Once that's done, a 4-digit display makes it fast for users to set important parameters or check parameters already set. Plus a rugged and compact metal housing, which is IP67 rated, allows these sensors to withstand harsh environments. On the flip side, S80 maintains its flexibility. Each S80 sensor is equipped with two PNP or NPN outputs, a scaleable 4-20mA output and an RS485 serial interface for remote monitoring and settings.
