Appleton Liquidtight Electrical Connectors Reduce Installation Time by 25% with New Pre-Assembled Design and KO Sealing Ring

ROSEMONT, IL, January 23, 2008 -- By redesigning its time-saving Liquidtight ST Series of cable and conduit connectors, Appleton is aggressively targeting OEM and harsh industrial applications that require electrical connections be protected from water, dust, oil, grease, fumes and other hostile contaminants.

Now available pre-assembled with an integrated KO sealing ring, the connectors are up to 25% faster to install than competitors' connectors.

Machine shop equipment, conveyors, material handling equipment, packaging, pumps and motors are some of the many heavy-duty OEM applications that benefit from the ST Series' durable design, ease of installation and cost savings. Bar stock steel or malleable iron construction offers long-lasting performance for maximum value.

Highlights of the fittings include a compact, slim profile with a small turning radius that makes for easier installation in tight spaces. Other performance-enhancing features include:
o Crimpable ferrule to secure mechanical grounding;
o deep ferrule threads that prevents pullout and conduit pop-out and are four times greater than UL requirements;
o decimally equivalent to conduit sizes to reduce errors and transaction costs.

UL Listed for use in Class I, Div 2 hazardous and wet locations, Appleton ST Series connectors are offered in trade sizes ranging from 3/8" to 5" in most straight, 45° and 90° configurations. They are available with or without insulated throats, external ground lug, wire mesh strain relief. Female hubs (straight) are also available.
