SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Jan. 16, 2008) - Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading manufacturer of electrical wiring devices and home systems, introduces its Flush Mount Weatherproof While-In-Use (WIU) Covers. These products use a standard wall plate and are suitable for receptacles, GFCIs, switches, turnlocks and more.
The Covers are assembled and shipped as one-piece units, including box and cover to ease installation. They offer several contractor friendly installation features, including a P&S patented corner hinge that allows vertical or horizontal mounting without field modifications, and a rectangular wall cut-out with a built-in template. Mountable on most types of exterior walls, the mounting flange is tapered and textured, with large open areas to improve stucco adherence.
"The flush mount While-In-Use Cover assembly can be replaced easily since the cover frame is fastened with screws," said Tom Roy, residential product manager at P&S. "The box comes with auto clamps, knock outs and optional quick clicks to further reduce installation time."
The WIU Covers come in white and translucent smoked gray. They meet 2008 NEC requirements for outdoor wet locations and have NEMA 3R ratings.
