DTV Tuner IC accommodates Chinese market standards.


January 21, 2008 - Offered as digital terrestrial TV tuner card reference design, XCode(TM) 2100 Series ASIC is designed to work with GB20600-2006 Chinese DTV standard for Digital Terrestrial TV Broadcasts (DTTB). Solution lets users capture, display, and record HDTV broadcast television programs on PC or laptop. It provides video processing features such as flexible interconnectivity, bitrate reduction, transcoding, DRM, and various security options.

ViXS and Legend Silicon Collaborate on GB20600-2006 Digital Terrestrial TV Tuner Card for Growing Chinese Market


ViXS reference design to provide powerful solution for new Chinese DTV standard

TORONTO, Jan. 10 -- ViXS Systems Inc., a leading developer of video processing solutions, today announced a low-cost, feature-rich digital terrestrial TV tuner card reference design for the rapidly growing GB20600-2006 market in China. ViXS' design will allow users to inexpensively and easily capture, display and record High-Definition (HD) TV broadcast television programs on their PC or laptop.

In cooperation with Tsinghua University, Legend Silicon has developed GB20600-2006 as a standard which has been adopted by China as the foundation for all Digital Terrestrial TV Broadcast (DTTB). Amongst its many benefits, the GB20600-2006 provides high-quality broadcast television to indoor, fixed, portable and mobile TV clients.

The ViXS XCode(TM) 2100 Series Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) will provide advanced video processing features such as flexible interconnectivity, bitrate reduction, transcoding, DRM and other security features - all in a low-cost ASIC.
