Stand Up Stix Announces its Launch of Painting Tools

"Stand Up Stix products offer simple, cost effective shortcuts to prepping doors for painting"

LAFAYETTE, Calif.- January 7, 2008 - Stand Up Stix today announced the launch of two new products: the Stand Up Stix and the Hold Up Hinge, which offer an innovative prepping solution for painting contractors. The products are a cost effective solution that reduce prepping time and increase painting productivity. For pros and DIY-ers alike, these products are a snap to use because they are lightweight, safe and won't damage doors. "This is a neat product, can't wait to see it [in stores] said Dan Boicelli, Jr., Boicelli Doors, Inc.

Made of ABS plastic, the interlocking "sticks" fit into the bore of the door's hardware, locking together to hold 2 or more doors at a 90 degree angle. Stand Up Stix are used for standard bored doors, and the Hold Up Hinge for hinged doors. "For a painting project consisting of 24-36 doors, a typical painting crew consists of 4 painters who spend 8 hours prepping and painting the doors. With these products, 2 painters can prep and paint the same doors in 2 hours," states Tom Allen, inventor.

Tom Allen, a painting contractor, invented the products because he saw a need for a simple solution for a cumbersome and difficult problem. Past methods of rigging doors for painting included nailing doors to trim pieces purchased for other contractors, damaging the door and wasting materials. Other processes included using non-reusable metal braces and expensive frames that were not cost effective.

Brooks Wiley, President of Stand Up Stix, will launch the products at the PACE (Painting And Coating Expo) show in Los Angeles January 27-30, 2008.
