Renolit "Samoa Teak" 3-D Laminates Match Popular Melamine, HPL

January 3, 2008

SWEDESBORO, NJ -- American Renolit is now stocking a new family of "Samoa Teak" 3-D Laminates (thermofoils) that match Roseburg® melamines and Wilsonart® high-pressure laminates, it was announced by Jim Barnett, business manager of Renolit Design.

The 3-D Laminates are intended for membrane pressing (vacuum laminating) of store fixtures, contract and residential furniture, computer workstations, displays, kitchen and bath cabinets, and other wood-core products in residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, and retail environments.

Designated Samoa Teak SC 1, 2 and 4, the Renolit 3-D Laminates match the Tuscan Teak Grigio, Tuscan Teak Rosso, and Tuscan Teak patterns (respectively) of Roseburg melamines and Wilsonart high-pressure laminates.

Coordinated matching of the patterns allows fabricators to mix 3-D Laminates, melamine board and high-pressure laminates on the same end product according to each component's shape, preferred method of manufacture, cost effectiveness, and anticipated level of use.

Membrane pressing conforms to three-dimensional shapes routed into MDF substrates, including compound curves, rounded corners, sharp details, intricate profiles and undercut edges, enabling designers to specify an unlimited number of three-dimensional shapes.

"By encapsulating all top and side surfaces with seamless 3-D Laminates in realistic woodgrain patterns, components can appear to be machined from solid wood, while reducing contamination, sealing out moisture, allowing easier cleaning and delivering greater safety than components surfaced with 2-D Laminates," explains Barnett.

American Renolit is said to stock the industry's widest selection of 3-D Laminates in woodgrain patterns and solid colors that match the melamine and HPL patterns and colors of Flakeboard®, Formica®, Georgia Pacific®, Pionite®, Roseburg®, Tafisa®, Uniboard®, and Wilsonart®.
