Attenuator and Terminator suit high-frequency applications.


January 7, 2008 - Rated at 10 W when heatsinked, PAT3060P RF Power Attenuator features frequency range from DC-10 GHz with VSWR of less than 1.3 at 10 GHz, and attenuation values of 0-10 dB and 20 dB. With power ratings to 250 W, surface-mount RFTF Terminator ranges from DC-3 GHz with VSWR of less than 1.1 at 3 GHz and stray capacitance of less than 0.1 pF at 250 W. Both are suited for RF power meters, RF and microwave power amplifiers, radar, satellites, and avionics.

IRC Develops 250W RF Power Terminator and 10W RF Power Attenuator for High Frequency Applications

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (December 17, 2007) - Providing design engineers with high power devices suitable for RF and microwave applications, TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division has developed a high power attenuator and surface mount transmission line terminator. Designated the PAT3060P Series attenuator and RFTF Series terminator, both devices feature low VSWRs at high frequencies, providing an excellent combination of power dissipation and performance in the RF and microwave bands.

"The construction of these devices maximizes performance at RF frequencies at high power dissipation," said Jerry Seams, applications engineering manager for IRC Advanced Film Division. "The terminator combines the benefits of planar design with the high thermal conductivity of aluminum nitride, while the attenuator is offered in a flanged package for direct heat sink mounting."

The PAT3060P Series attenuator and RFTF Series terminator are ideal for high frequency and high power applications including RF power meters, RF and microwave power amplifiers, radar, satellites, avionics, wireless communications, RF power sources and RF/microwave test instruments.

The PAT3060P high power attenuator features a frequency range from DC to 10GHz with a VSWR of less than 1.3 at 10GHz. Attenuation values include 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16 and 20dB. The attenuator is rated to 10W when heatsinked (1.5W without a heatsink). Impedance is 50ohms, with an operating temperature of -55°C to +125°C.

The RFTF Series high frequency terminator is available with power ratings to 250W. Stray capacitance is <1.0pF at 250W and operating frequency ranges from DC to 3GHz, with a VSWR of less than 1.1 at 3GHz. DC Resistance is 50ohms with tolerances to ±1%, ±2% and ±5%. The operating temperature range is from -55°C to +155°C.

Pricing for the PAT3060P attenuator starts at $10.50 each in quantities of 50 pieces. Pricing for the RFTF Series terminator starts at $8.75 in quantities of 100 pieces. Lead time is 6 weeks for the PAT3060P and 8 weeks for the RFTF.
