Soybean Herbicides address changing weed control needs.

December 31, 2007 - Combining flumioxazin and sulfonylurea, Enlite(TM) and Envive(TM) soybean pre-emergence herbicides provide consistent glyphosate- and ALS-resistant weed control even under cool, wet conditions. Envive is designed to control waterhemp and be used by growers in longer growing seasons of central and southern US regions. Enlite, which has no soil pH restrictions, allows growers in northern US regions better plant-back options when rotating from soybeans to corn or cereal crops.

New DuPont(TM) Enlite(TM) and Envive(TM) Soybean Herbicides Offer Answers to Changing Weed Control Needs

WILMINGTON, Del., Dec. 13 -- DuPont Crop Protection has received federal registration approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for two soybean pre-emergence herbicides designed to provide growers with a better tool for managing weed resistance. The new products, DuPont(TM) Enlite(TM) and Envive(TM) herbicides, feature two modes of action that will provide growers with longer lasting, more consistent early season control of weeds that have developed tolerance and/or resistance to glyphosate and ALS chemistries.

"The introduction of Enlite(TM) and Envive(TM) herbicides is another way DuPont Crop Protection is delivering answers to growers' changing weed control needs," said Jim Collins, vice president and general manager, DuPont Crop Protection. "DuPont is committed to providing innovative products that advance agriculture and help growers increase bottom-line profits."

According to Collins, the new herbicides showcase the power that can be harnessed by proprietary homogenous blend technology from DuPont, which enables rapid development of new herbicides with multiple active ingredients for improved resistance management. Using this technology, Enlite(TM) and Envive(TM) herbicides combine flumioxazin and DuPont sulfonylurea herbicides for consistent, highly effective weed control, even under cool, wet conditions.

Both Enlite(TM) and Envive(TM) herbicides provide contact plus residual control of winter annuals, marestail, lambsquarters, dandelion and other glyphosate- and ALS-resistant weeds. This gives growers early season control that lasts long enough to make post herbicide applications closer to crop canopy.

The Envive(TM) herbicide blend was designed to control waterhemp and be used by growers in the longer growing seasons of the central and southern regions of the United States. Enlite(TM) herbicide, which has no soil pH restrictions, allows growers in the northern regions of the United States better plant back options when rotating from soybeans to corn or cereal crops.
