Telsima Announces WiMAX(TM) 450 MHz / 700 MHz BWA Solution

First Sub-GHz WiMAX Solution Paving the Way for WiMAX as Most Efficient Country-Wide Internet Access Technology

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec 13 --

-- Solution comprises BS, SS, NMS and provisioning system

-- Available in several versions covering bands from 400 MHz to 1GHz

-- Nomadic Mobility & STC/MRC MIMO supported

Telsima Corporation, a global leader in WiMAX(TM) systems and the overall market segment leader in WiMAX deployments, today announced its WiMAX 450/700 MHz BWA Solution at the India Telecom 2007 show at New Delhi, 2007.

Telsima's WiMAX 450/700MHz solution delivers Internet, Voice and Multimedia services over a wireless broadband link to remote users. An end- to-end communication solution for operators who have a frequency license between 400 MHz and 1 GHz, the Telsima solution can be customized for any specified band within that range -- by default it supports the 450 MHz and 700 MHz bands. Since the solution is standard WiMAX SoC based, it leverages all the benefits of this open standard point-to-multipoint technology, making way for unmatched set of rich features at low cost.

Burcak Beser, CTO Telsima underlines, "450 MHz and 700 MHz bands have excellent signal propagation characteristics, a fact that makes them ideal choices for communication networks. Compared to the typical 3.5 GHz based BWA systems, a Sub-GHz band based network requires approximately 18 times less infrastructure per square kilometer coverage. This solution therefore is especially attractive for areas with low population or for operators planning to provide country-wide internet access connectivity. The Telsima WiMAX 450/700MHz platform delivers VoIP, Video Services and high-speed Data while supporting different bandwidths and this service flexibility, coupled with low-cost, is fundamental to making the rural operator's business case sustainable. On the other hand, with Nomadic and Mobility support, the Telsima 450/700 MHz solution also addresses those operators who plan for mobile internet access services. "

"Telsima is proud to be the first to unveil a solution in this band as this technology is potentially the most important enabler for markets world- wide to adopt wireless internet access efficiently on a country-wide basis." says Mathias Renner, VP Product Marketing of Telsima, "Telsima has always strived to understand the market requirements of its high growth markets correctly and we are excited about continuing our market leadership with the 450/700 MHz WiMAX solution."

Telsima is demonstrating its Mobile WiMAX(TM) solution in 2.5 GHz band at the Telsima booth in the WiMAX Pavilion in Hall#18 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi between December12-15, 2007. Telsima will also be presenting its Sub 1GHz solutions in the show.

The driver for Telsima's success is its Tier 1 operator-proven, WiMAX Forum Certified(TM) product portfolio with mobility support today and its Mobile WiMAX solution portfolio. Telsima's innovations allow operators to offer mobile services, MIMO antenna diversity and ASN type network control today -- and to smoothly migrate among technology preferences and customer portfolio & service changes. Telsima's market leading position was recently also acknowledged by its winning the WiMAX World USA 2007 award for its Indian WiMAX rollout in the category of Digital Cities Deployment.
