Datalogic's New DS4800: the Most Flexible Laser Scanner for Industrial Applications

Datalogic Automation introduces the new DS4800, a flexible and compact laser
scanner for industrial applications that satisfies all the main identification needs of
your manufacturing plant.

Hebron, KY December 6th, 2007. Datalogic is pleased to announce the availability of the new DS4800 compact laser scanner. This new addition extends Datalogic's current offer for the manufacturing market and provides extraordinary flexibility for major industrial applications.

The DS4800 features excellent reading performance that satisfies all the main identification needs of your plant, especially in Shop Floor and Warehousing applications. Smart focus adjusting and DIGITECH(TM) technology improve reading rate on low contrast bar codes, while the ACR4(TM) reconstruction algorithm enhances reading performance and max tilt angle on damaged labels.

Installation and maintenance are easier than ever thanks to Datalogic's innovative X-PRESS(TM) interface. Status and diagnostic information are clearly shown through the 5-LED bar-graph, while multi-function push buttons enable all relevant activities such as bar code verification (Test mode), automatic code setting (AutoLearn) and self-optimization of reading performance (AutoSetup).

Additionally, the DS4800 is easily programmed through the multi-language Genius(TM) configuration program. This allows the scanner set-up to be rapid due to the wizard approach and graphic add-ons. The DS4800 is equipped with the embedded high-speed ID-NET(TM) communication interface. This technology allows for efficient data collection without the need for an external multiplexer, and overall cost reduction and simplified network wiring.

Extended fieldbus connectivity is also available through a complete range of modular connection boxes. The rugged full metal construction, IP65 protection, max operative temperature of 122 F° (50°C) and total immunity against ambient light make DS4800 the suitable product for major industrial applications.
