Hydrostatic Pumps target mobile machinery applications.

December 11, 2007 - Models H1 45/53 cc and 78 cc single pumps utilize electro-hydraulic servo piston assembly that controls rate and direction of hydraulic flow. PLUS+1(TM)-Compliant, closed-circuit variable displacement axial piston pumps include tandem Control Cut Off (CCO) circuit that disables both pump controls in absence of proper signal to override solenoid; Integral Speed Limitation (ISL) circuit that prevents engine overspeed; and pressure filtration with filter bypass sensor and switch.

H1 Hydrostatic Pump Family Expands: Offers More Opportunities for Tomorrow's Mobile Machinery

Sauer-Danfoss' new generation delivers higher quality & reliability, greater efficiency, enhanced functionality and easy installation - with all H1 pumps optimized around a common electrical control.

AMES, IOWA, USA - SAUER-DANFOSS INC. (NYSE:SHS) Sauer-Danfoss has announced the release of its new H1 45/53cc and 78cc single pumps, joining the already successful 147/165cc single pump and the 45/53cc integral tandem pump. First introduced in 2005, the H1 family has now doubled in size. Sauer-Danfoss' commitment to H1 is geared to enhance not only electro-hydraulic performance but also to complement overall machine operating performance for a broad variety of propel and non-propel applications.

The H1 family of closed-circuit variable displacement axial piston pumps is compact and features high power density. All the units utilize an integral electro-hydraulic servo piston assembly that controls rate (speed) and direction of hydraulic flow. They can be used with other Sauer-Danfoss pumps and motors in the hydraulic system.

"We're pleased with both the reception and success of our new hydrostatic pumps," says Randy Rodgers, Product Portfolio Manager. "They offer the OEM a number of inherent advantages including better horsepower management via improved total pump efficiency, in addition to helping control vehicle maintenance and operating costs." Rodgers adds, "Optimizing around electronic control is the future of mobile machinery - because tomorrow's electronically controlled engines are going to need electronically controlled pumps. H1 is fully PLUS+1(TM) Compliant to interface seamlessly with Sauer-Danfoss' electronic machine control architecture."

Greater Machine Efficiency
Among their operating characteristics, H1 pumps reduce rotating group, control and charge pump losses, which saves fuel consumption, frees power for other vehicle functions and enhances operating performance and productivity. "Better efficiency means you can use smaller engines on some machines," says Rodgers, "while you reduce machine heat load and increase power to the ground."

Standardized H1 Design Boosts Quality and Reliability
H1 pumps employ the same proven design concept over the entire displacement range and the same electrical control for the entire family. This design commonality is a sustaining feature in improving quality and reliability at the factory level and leads to benefits of uniformity and familiarity at the OEM level.

H1 Expands Functionality
"The market is expecting machines with enhanced operator and/or vehicle safety features. We built more functionality into H1," comments Rodgers, "particularly with respect to addressing elements surrounding safe vehicle operation. H1 offers OEMs numerous new options that are designed to improve operator and vehicle safety."

Examples include: a tandem Control Cut Off (CCO) circuit that will safely disable both pump controls in the absence of the proper signal to the override solenoid; an Integral Speed Limitation (ISL) circuit that improves vehicle braking while preventing engine over-speed; and integral pressure filtration with a filter bypass sensor and switch, prompting necessary filter service and maintenance.

Designed for Greater Installation Versatility
H1 pumps are compact in length and have at least one "clean side," facilitating machine design and installation. The high corner HP/package size ratio translates to higher power density with more space saved. "To provide versatility across a broad range of applications, Sauer-Danfoss has engineered H1 with commonalities from overall design to standardized electrical control interfaces, making it easier than ever to incorporate H1 products. Our H1 family will continue to grow, ultimately including both pumps and motors," says Rodgers.

Sauer-Danfoss Inc. is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and sale of engineered hydraulic, electric and electronic systems and components, for use primarily in applications of mobile equipment. Sauer-Danfoss, with approximately 9,000 employees worldwide and revenue of more than $1.7 billion, has sales, manufacturing and engineering capabilities in Europe, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region. The Company's executive offices are located near Chicago in Lincolnshire, Illinois and in Neumunster, Germany. More details online at www.sauer-danfoss.com.
