News Story

Graphite Adhesive withstands high-temperature applications.

December 10, 2007 - Containing no asbestos or VOCs, Graphi-Bond(TM) 669 bonds, fills, and repairs carbon-carbon and graphite components/structures used in oxidizing and reducing atmospheres to 2,500°F. This single-part, graphite-filled, silicate-bonded, and waterborne adhesive exhibits 4.2 ppm x 10-6/°F coefficient of thermal expansion, which makes it suited for thermal cycling applications. Adhesive cures at room temperature for 1-2 hr, followed by heating to 200°F for 2-4 hr.

Graphi-Bond 669 High Temperature Graphite Adhesive Now Available

Valley Cottage, NY - December 4, 2007

SUMMARY
Graphi-Bond(TM) 669, a new single part, high temperature, graphite-based adhesive manufactured by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to bond, fill and repair carbon-carbon and graphite components and fixtures used in oxidizing and reducing atmospheres to 2500 °F (1371 °C).

FEATURES
Graphi-Bond(TM) 669 is a single part, graphite-filled, silicate-bonded, waterborne, high temperature adhesive used to bond, fill and repair carbon-carbon and graphite components and structures used in reducing atmospheres to 2500 °F (1371 °C).

Graphi-Bond(TM) 669 is used typically to bond and patch carbon-carbon and graphite components such as brushes, RF susceptors, fixtures, electrodes, crucibles, furnace parts, metal-casting dies, and continuous casting dies. Due to its low coefficient of thermal expansion, 4.2 ppm x 10-6/°F, matching most grades of carbon and graphite, it is ideal for thermal cycling applications.

Graphi-Bond(TM) 669 is an easy-to-apply, dispensable adhesive that contains no asbestos or volatile organic compounds. It cures at room temperature for 1-2 hours followed by heating to 200 °F for 2-4 hours.

Graphi-Bond(TM) 669 is available from stock in pint, quart, gallon, and five-gallon pails. Please contact Aremco's Technical Sales Department for more information about this advanced product.
