Magnetic Activated Ground handles up to 450 A.

December 5, 2007 - Able to handle up to 450 A continuously (100% duty cycle) and 600 A at 20% duty cycle, Magnetic Activated Ground provides freedom of motion to welder by allowing 360º ground cable rotation when in locked position. Built-in on/off switch activates magnet, providing ground close to weld, and ergonomic curved body permits one-handed operation. Debris is removed by switching unit off and wiping surface clean with 2 built-in scrapers. Integral pipe boot allows for ID/OD pipe applications.

New Magnetic Activated Ground Handles up to 450 Amps at Flip of Switch

On/Off Switch Activates Powerful Magnet;
Easier, Faster than Alligator Clamps or Old-Style Magnetic Clamps

WESTLAKE, OH - November 28, 2007 - Western Enterprises has announced a new ultra convenient ground for welding. The new Magnetic Activated Ground has a built-in on/off switch which activates a powerful magnet, providing an outstanding ground, close to the weld. It is smaller, lighter and more versatile than alligator clamps or traditional style magnetic clamps. There is no need to tack a tab to the surface as with an alligator clamp, nor will the ground collect debris like an old magnetic clamp. To clean, the user turns it off and wipes it clean.

The Magnetic Activated Ground can handle up to 450 amps continuously (100% duty cycle) on a clean flat surface. Up to 600 amps can be handled at a 20% duty cycle on a clean, flat surface, accommodating most welding processes. The ground promotes better weld quality by providing a physically stable, strong ground that often can be closer to the weld than an alligator clamp.

The ground has a unique ergonomic curved body which permits one-handed operation, even with gloves. Additionally, two built-in scrapers can be used to help clean away rust and debris for solid contact.

The Magnetic Activated Ground provides exceptional freedom of motion to the welder by allowing 360º ground cable rotation when in the locked position. It does not require adaptors of any kind. A built-in pipe boot allows for both inside diameter or outside diameter pipe applications.
