Midwest SnipsŪ Duct Tightener Simplifies HVAC/R Duct Connection and Installation

Sturgis, Michigan, November 15, 2007 - Midwest Tool And Cutlery Company has expanded its Midwest SnipsŪ line of HVAC/R specialty tools with a new Duct Tightener tool. The Duct Tightener's unique patent pending design makes it fast and easy for one person to connect duct runs. Simply tap the tool into place and the V-notch pulls and holds duct together for easy drive cleat insertion. The compact size easily fits into a tool pouch so it's always at hand and ready to use. The Duct Tightener is made in USA of durable 16-gauge steel and features a rust resistant zinc coating.

When using the Duct Tightener to connect duct runs, the installer aligns the adjoining duct runs and using just one hand slides the Duct Tightener's V-notch end over the duct end-tabs to hold the ductwork in place. The installer then taps the Duct Tightener firmly onto the end-tabs with a hammer to pull and align the duct runs tightly together. A drive-cleat is then quickly and easily inserted and the Duct Tightener removed. The Duct Tightener's V-notch accommodates varying duct run gaps and end-tabs. Due to its compact size the Duct Tightener easily fits into a tool belt so it is always conveniently at hand when standing on a ladder.

About Midwest Tool and Cutlery Company

Midwest Tool and Cutlery Company manufactures the Midwest SnipsŪ brand of aviation snips, tinner snips, and related hand tools at manufacturing facilities located in Sturgis and Kalkaska, Michigan. The key characteristic of Midwest Tool and Cutlery Company manufactured traditional models of tinner snips and the company's complete line of aviation snips is the hot drop-forging process. Hot drop-forged blades cut better, hold a cutting edge longer and are stronger than the cast or stamped blades used by other manufacturers. The Midwest SnipsŪ product line includes folding and bending tools, cable cutters and other specialty snips and hand tools used in HVAC/R, industrial, construction, siding, roofing, and related trades.
