Submersible Level Sensors feature removable, reusable cage.

November 30, 2007 - Equipped with vented, watertight cable, PT-500 Series delivers 4-20 mA solid-state signal while submerged up to 450 ft. Removable stainless steel cage connects to sensor with snap ring and enables use in harsh environments. IP68-protected transmitters are temperature compensated and tested to deliver accuracy of 0.50% of span. Installed with surface mount technology, sensors are suited for sewage lift stations, tank liquid level measurement, water and wastewater.

New Submersible Level Sensors Offer Unique Removable and Reusable Cage for Significant Savings in Harsh Environments

Only liquid level/pressure transmitter available today with this feature

LOGAN, UT - Automation Products Group, Inc. introduces the PT-500 Submersible Liquid Level/Pressure Transmitters. The PT-500 features a vented, watertight cable and delivers a high precision 4-20mA solid-state signal while submerged up to 450 ft. A unique (patent pending) removable stainless steel cage connects to the sensor with a simple snap ring and enables users to save significantly on sensor replacement costs.

"The stainless steel cage is a fairly expensive piece of hardware that typically cannot be removed from the sensor, or reused. Historically that has meant that each time a sensor needed to be replaced in the field so did the cage at an added cost of $200 or so," says Karl Reid, Engineering Manager. "Because these types of sensors are used in some nasty environments they tend be replaced on a fairly regular basis, so being able to reuse the cage can deliver exponential savings over a period time," he says.

Rugged IP68 protected PT-500 transmitters are individually tested to deliver accuracy of 0.50% of span, and are temperature compensated to ensure accuracy and long-term stability under extreme temperature variations. Simple-to-install surface mount technology provides added protection from shock and vibration. As a result, they are an ideal solution for sewage lift stations, tank liquid level measurement, water and wastewater, well depth measurement and environmental water depth measurement.
