Standard-Knapp Introduces Continuous Motion Slitter/Sealer

High-speed, low-maintenance design for easy operation and changeover

Portland, CT-Standard-Knapp, a worldwide leader in the manufacture of innovative packaging machinery, introduces its continuous motion Slitter/Sealer for high-speed in-line case handling in the food and beverage industries.

Designed to handle a range of tablock case types, Standard-Knapp's Slitter/Sealer is engineered for maximum uptime and efficiency. The Slitter/Sealer's pitch adjustment employs servo motors and variable drive controls to ensure precise timing and eliminate operator error while the innovative infeed design provides positive product timing. Its in-line machine design also eliminates the need to turn the case when slitting the tab-locks on incoming cases. Operating in continuous motion, the Slitter/Sealer inline case handling achieves speeds of more than 100 cases per minute.

Standard-Knapp's Slitter/Sealer comprises very few moving parts, making the width of the entire machine adjustable with just one hand-crank. One operator can complete changeover in less than 15 minutes without tools or change parts and infeed timing adjustments are made with the simple push of a button. The user-friendly touch screen control panel includes an ergonomic design that can be moved to where it's needed.

Due to its continuous motion design, the Slitter/Sealer does not experience the "impact" wear typical to other machines. Servos are used in place of high-maintenance cams and chains and the machine is equipped with optically interlocked guard doors with a photo beam which, when broken, triggers a machine stop. The Slitter/Sealer also features a stainless steel rust-proof frame that does not require painting.
