St. Mary's, PA - November 13, 2007 - Spectrum Sensors and Controls introduces an outdoor air temperature sensor featuring a fast response, precision thermistor sensing element. The sensing element is completely sealed from the environment in a fully potted metal housing with a PVC solar shield that prevents false readings from direct sunlight.
Spectrum's outdoor air temperature sensor threads easily into a mounting hole and is available with options like a weatherproof electrical box for easy and rugged installation, a variety of sensor performance values and alternate configurations for the PVC solar shield. This temperature sensor offers a standard temperature accuracy of ±0.2°C from 0°C to 70°C and standard resistance values ranging from 3,000W to 10,000W.
The cost effective design of Spectrum's outdoor air temperature sensor is ideal for use in residential and commercial building automation controls. The use of the optional weatherproof electrical box makes it an excellent choice for heavy duty applications or where the sensor will not have additional protection.
