Eaton Char-Lynn® HP30 Disc Valve Motor - with Lowest Pressure Drop in the Industry - Targets Off-Highway Applications

Eaton Char-Lynn® HP30 Disc Valve Motor-With Lowest Pressure Drop In The Industry-Targets Off-Highway Applications

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. ... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation has introduced the new Char-Lynn® HP30 (high-pressure, 30,000 in. lbs torque) disc valve motor, featuring no-load pressure drop under 13.6 bar at 70 lpm flow. The HP30 targets mobile off-highway applications requiring up to 3,389 Nm of intermittent torque, providing continuous operation with flow of 170 lpm at 310 bar, intermittent operation at 265 lpm and 345 bar and maximum inlet pressure of 400 bar. An optional hydraulic parking brake offers up to 3,570 Nm of static holding torque.

The Eaton Char-Lynn HP30 motor offers significant advantages over competitive designs and technologies like radial piston and cam lobe, including higher starting torque efficiency, lower pressure drop and smoother two-speed shifting.

The HP30 harnesses 45 years of Eaton engineering expertise in a precision-designed motor that provides no-load pressure drop under 13.6 bar at 70 lpm - the best in the industry. By minimizing motor pressure drop, Eaton's HP30 motors reduce parasitic heat build-up, thereby improving vehicle operating efficiency and reducing emissions.

High performance ratings make the HP30 with displacements from 345 - 940 cc ideal for mobile off-highway applications like skid steer loaders, harvesters, and forestry equipment that require up to 3,389 Nm of intermittent torque.

These include:
o Continuous pressure 170 lpm at 310 bar
o Intermittent pressure 265 lpm at 345 bar
o Maximum inlet pressure 400 bar

Options available for the HP30 motor will include standard, wheel, and bearingless versions and an enhanced Eaton front-mounted, spring-released, pressure-applied (SAPR) hydraulic brake with 3,570 Nm of holding torque. All motors are available with HTLS (High Torque Low Speed) and HSLT (High Speed Low Torque) switchable capability. Field conversions of single into two speeds and vice versa also make HP30 an easy-yet powerful-drop-in replacement. The HP30 bearingless version is available now. The full range will be available in Q2 2008.
