Digital Marine Radar operates automatically.

November 6, 2007 - Super HD Digital Radar uses processing algorithms that reduce its horizontal beam by electronically increasing width and boosting radar antenna size for detail and target separation. With settings for gain, sea clutter, and tuning automatically adjusted by digital receiver, multilevel color radar features 256 colors and is available in 5 color palette options. HD or Super HD Digital 4 kW radar scanners with 4 or 6 ft open arrays are available.

Raymarine Revolutionizes Radar with HD Digital(TM) and Super HD Digital Radar Technology

New Technology is a Quantum Leap into the Future of Marine Radar

MERRIMACK, N.H., Oct. 25 / / -- Raymarine, a world leader in marine electronics, today introduced its new HD and Super High Definition (HD) Digital Radars, a major advancement in the evolution of marine radar technology. Using highly advanced digital signal processing, Raymarine's HD Digital radar surpasses conventional analog radar systems by offering incredibly detailed target resolution and fully automatic operation.

"The Super HD Digital Radar delivers twice the performance of traditional radar systems, providing advanced radar technology unmatched by any other system on the market," said Terry Carlson, president of Raymarine, Inc. "This product takes marine radar technology to a whole new level, allowing our customers to navigate using the most sophisticated radar technology available today."

The "smartest" marine radar available, the groundbreaking Super HD Digital Radar features a greater dynamic range that enables the digital receiver to acquire and process vast amounts of echo information that is normally lost by conventional analog radar systems. The technology then uses a powerful processor to intelligently isolate and identify true radar targets, while simultaneously eliminating unwanted sea clutter. The result is a dramatically clearer radar display.

Additionally, the Super HD Digital Radar's unique processing algorithms reduce the digital radar's horizontal beam by electronically increasing width and boosting the radar antenna size to deliver unprecedented detail and target separation, resulting in an incredibly precise display of radar targets and land mass shapes. Best of all, the technology is fully automatic and requires virtually no operator intervention, making it extremely easy to use. Settings for gain, sea clutter and tuning are automatically adjusted by the digital receiver on every range scale, allowing the captain to focus on target tracking and navigation instead of radar tuning.

The advanced Super HD Digital Radar is available in five color palette options with options for harbor, coastal, offshore or buoy auto modes. The multi-level color radar features 256 colors for a dramatically clear radar display. The Super HD Digital Radar system is also compatible with the SeaTalkhs network with support for dual networked radar antennas.

Raymarine's new digital radar technology platform offers both HD Digital and performance enhanced Super HD Digital open array radar antennas. Boaters can choose either HD or Super HD Digital 4kW radar scanners with either a 4' or 6' open array. In early 2008, Raymarine will also offer a 12kW Super HD Digital version with either a 4' or 6' open array. Raymarine HD Digital and Super HD Digital Radar antennas are compatible with Raymarine's new G-Series Navigation System.
