MDrive34Plus˛ Speed Control Delivers Integrated Velocity Control
The MDrivePlus(TM) product line, with its proven leading technology combining motor, driver and encoder, increases functionality with the integration of a digital oscillator for accurate speed control in the new MDrive34Plus˛ Speed Control. This all-in-one variable speed control solution utilizes a NEMA size 34 high-torque brushless 1.8° motor, with NEMA size 17 and 23 motors also available. The MDrive34Plus˛ Speed Control includes a programmable oscillator along with an easy-to-program parameter setup GUI communicating over SPI. Numerous rich product features include 2 separate configurable speed control inputs that may be preset and digitally selected, an output frequency up to 5 MHz, and 3 adjustable modes of operation: voltage, current and PWM. Step and direction output signals may be used to control a second axis that follows the speed of the first, simplifying wiring and controlling machines with large tables or wide conveyors while eliminating drift between motor speeds.
The MDrive34Plus˛ Speed Control accepts a broad input voltage range from +12 to +75 VDC, delivering enhanced performance and speed. Oversized input capacitors are used to minimize power line surges, reducing problems that can occur with long runs and multiple drive systems. An extended operating range of -40° to +75°C provides long life, trouble free service in demanding environments.
Unsurpassed smoothness and performance is achieved through advanced 2nd generation current control. By applying innovative techniques to control current flow through the motor, resonance is significantly dampened over the entire speed range and audible noise reduced.
The MDrive34Plus˛ Speed Control can reduce size, cost and complexity in a wide range of brushless motor applications without compromising functionality, and is an ideal compact solution where space is limited and budget is important.
