MetalOptics(TM) Introduces GreenBay(TM) Energy Efficiency Coupled with Environmental Savings

MetalOptics announces GreenBay; energy efficient, high-intensity fluorescent high bay that compliments energy savings with environmental savings. GreenBay significantly reduces packaging, material waste, weight, and floor space requirements while lowering installation costs. GreenBay, a new offering from MetalOptics, a USA-based manufacturer of performance lighting fixtures for retrofit solutions, features all the energy savings and excellent thermal management properties that drive superior lamp and ballast performance while extending component life.

Produced for industrial high bay, retail, warehouse and manufacturing applications, GreenBay offers a substantial 95% reduction in cardboard use (100% if the return program is utilized), 34% reduction in shipping weight and 67% reduction in storage and shipping space. The unique patent pending MetalOptics packaging design uses a pallet configuration that eliminates individual boxes. Interlocking tabs ensure a robust structure that removes the need for cardboard protecting each individual fixture and allowing the fixtures to be shipped with lamps, power cords and hangers installed; thereby reducing installation time. The product is designed to ship in pallet quantities of thirty-two, unlike products using shipping boxes that require two or more pallets. "We have done rigorous shipping tests and have achieved excellent results transporting with lamps, cords and hangers installed", said Brand Director, Jeff McDonald. Gene Rudolph, Vice President and General Manager of Acuity Brands Lighting, Austin, added, "Customers now require less effort to unpack fixtures and use less storage and shipping space. Resources required to open, break down and dispose of individual cardboard boxes is either significantly reduced or eliminated, which increases productivity. GreenBay benefits contractors, shippers, distributors and end users, but the real winner is all of us. By reducing the packaging we are preserving natural resources and saving on the energy needed to transport fixtures." Now the energy savings that MetalOptics has been achieving through highly efficient fluorescent lighting is coupled with an additional environmental resource impact.

To further support the objective to reduce, reuse and recycle materials, MetalOptics also has a return program for GreenBay shipping package. The packaging is designed to easily place into a carton that is part of the original shipment top. It can then be packed with the shrink-wrap and poly bags from the original shipment and returned with a prepaid shipping label. Customers will be credited for returning the shipping package and the packing frame will be re-used packaging GreenBay product.
GreenBay is available in several photometric distributions and is offered with or without lamps, power cords and hangers along with other options. For more online information: www.metaloptics.com
