APCON Announces Release of TITAN Appliance
New rack-mount server ships pre-loaded with TITAN v1.5 network management software
WILSONVILLE, Ore., Oct. 24 /-- APCON, Inc., the leader in physical layer switch solutions, today announced that it will begin selling the TITAN Appliance, a rack-mount server that comes pre-loaded with its powerful TITAN network device management software. The Appliance, which APCON (Javits Center, booth 531) will be featuring in its booth at the INTEROP show in New York this week, offers a centralized point of control for the connectivity of network devices used for test lab automation and in enterprise monitoring applications.
Advantages to implementing the TITAN Appliance are time savings, because the pre-configured server eliminates software installation and set-up time, and maximized performance, achieved by preventing conflicts that may arise from having TITAN running on a server with other network or internet applications.
"The goal of the TITAN Appliance is to get our customers up and running as quickly as possible with their network device management," said APCON President and CEO Richard Rauch. "Additionally, TITAN software offers a wealth of features that will increase productivity and make the completion of routine tasks a lot easier."
The newly released TITAN v1.5 software, which offers enhanced support for Ethernet-based networks, ships standard on the TITAN Appliance. Version 1.5 enables the software to serve a wider variety of monitoring deployments and network applications. Other features, which introduce several industry firsts, boost the program's functionality and ease-of-use. Those include:
-- TITAN is first to automatically check for compatibility between devices, assuring a common rate and matching protocol.
-- TITAN is also first to provide error messages when connections fail. Errors have always been detected, but never before has the system notified the user.
-- When connecting several multi-rate devices, TITAN automatically selects the highest rate common to both devices.
-- TITAN's port tapping, which has always been unlimited, now features easy-to-read icons and graphics.
-- Output is now available in delimited format, which is readily adaptable for scripting and automation.
-- TITAN offers customizable task menus for individual system users.
TITAN facilitates easy-to-understand connections of multiple APCON and other third-party physical layer switches, creating a limitless virtual switch architecture capable of supporting thousands of ports.
