Intelligent Asset Management Systems Launches a Fully Automated Asset and Tool Storage System
MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 18 -- IAM-Systems has formally announced the launch of IAM-Systems, a fully automated asset and tool storage system, designed to track and store businesses' assets, tools and inventory. The system allows employees to retrieve items 24 hours a day and store them in a secure location when not in use.
According to Michael LeSage, President of Columbia Building Services, "The future has arrived, we have come from the Stone Age to Star Wars. Wow, I can't believe how effective this product is. We always know where all of our equipment, tools, and supplies are 24/7. Columbia no longer spends wasted money on labor trying to track down needed equipment. When our next project arrives the preparation is already done. We love it. Necessity is truly the mother of invention."
IAM-Systems allows companies to eliminate on-staff inventory specialists and have the use of tools/assets monitored by computer. The system is capable of running reports displaying usage of the items stored as well as other pertinent information. Employees can use the reports to keep track of who is using the tools/assets and when they are being used. In doing so, companies can monitor the condition of their inventory more closely.
Since IAM-Systems is completely customized, it can be used in a variety of ways. A few variations of the system are key control, card control, disposable supply dispenser, tool pegboard, and document control. All options have the ability to restrict the access of items to authorized users only.
IAM-Systems was developed through a joint effort with Columbia Building Services, a building services company based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Columbia Building Services was having difficulty with tracking their tools and inventory and asked Rick Todd, business manager of Columbia Building Services, to design and create a more efficient way to track inventory and tools. With the success of IAM-Systems for Columbia Building Services, Rick Todd and Michael LeSage, partners in IAM-Systems, have decided to make the asset inventory storage system available to the public.
