Adept Introduces Cleanroom Class 1 ESD Modules

ADEPT TECHNOLOGY EXTENDS CLEANROOM CLASS 1 ESD PRODUCTS TO INCLUDE CARTESIAN AND 6-AXIS ROBOTS

Adept Python(TM) Linear Robots are Ideal for Assembly and Handling of ESD Sensitive Products in Disk Drive, Solar and Medical Industries.

LIVERMORE, Calif. - September 19, 2007, Adept Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADEP), the leading provider of intelligent vision guided robotics and global robotics services announced the introduction of Adept Python Clean Room Class 1 ESD modular Cartesian robots. They are the latest addition to the industry's broadest clean room and ESD product line that includes SCARA, Six-axis and Cartesian robots. The new robots are targeted at precision assembly and handling applications in the solar, disk drive, LCD, semiconductor and life sciences markets.

The Adept Python Class 1 ESD robots provide high speed and precision motion while maintaining very clean operation. The Adept Python modules can be configured to fit a wide range of ESD sensitive product applications where speed, precision and flexibility are required.

The Adept Python modules run on Adept's industry leading SmartController(TM) CX controls and software platform providing superior path following, faster cycle times, better repeatability, integrated vision and embedded networking.

"Adept Python Robots reflect Adept's continued commitment to providing exceptional performance without compromising Clean room operation," said John Dulchinos, president and COO of Adept Technology. "As products become more sensitive to contamination and ESD during their production, robotic automation is an ideal alternative to manual processes."
