MITEM Releases Blue Iris eLaborate 8.6

New features include remote printing, real-time medical necessity checking, an updated user interface and support for draw-station future orders.

MENLO PARK, Calif., Sept. 20 /-- MITEM Corporation, a provider of clinical applications for healthcare and integration software solutions, today announced the release of Blue Iris eLaborate 8.6.

Blue Iris eLaborate provides a flexible, easy-to-use, web-based order entry application that can connect to virtually any hospital information system, laboratory information system and physician practice management system.

This version includes a number of new features as well as product enhancements and bug fixes. Among the new and improved features are remote printing, real-time medical necessity checking, an updated user interface and support for draw-station future orders.

Remote printing provides a mechanism to automatically print test results as they are made available at a physician's office, without the need for the physician or their staff to log into Blue Iris eLaborate.

Real-time medical necessity checking performs a check for medical compliance against the most recent data available online, and in real-time, instead of using a quarterly updated data source.

The updated user interface presents a cleaner and more intuitive look and feel while the support for draw-station future orders alleviates the problems associated with placing future orders in legacy-based LIS applications.

"This release adds some key features and enhancements that our customers have been asking for," said Andy Nelson, vice president, marketing. "Staying in tune with and responding to our customers' needs is our number one priority and helps keep us highly competitive. Furthermore, the base product gains some significant features that will help benefit our customers in numerous ways," he added.

The Blue Iris family of products provides real time, bi-directional integration between Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and physician offices in hospital outreach programs.
