Designed in hermetically sealed ceramic package, Model VCS3 leverages high Q crystal resonator in conjunction with synthesizer ASIC to create CMOS outputs as high as 200 MHz. RoHS-compliant unit features stability performance up to 25 ppm and is tested to meet standards based on MIL-STD-883. With supply voltages of 1.8, 2.5, and 3.3 V, oscillator is available in commercial temperature range of -10 to 70°C and industrial temperature of -40 to 85°C.
Vectron International Introduces its Smallest Crystal Oscillator
New VCS3 is 77% Smaller Than Today's Standard 7x5 Packaging, Meets Customer Demand for Reduced Space Requirements and Allows for Increased Performance and Functionality
HUDSON, N.H., Sept. 25 /-- Vectron International, a leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of Frequency Control, Sensor, and Hybrid Product solutions, today announced its smallest crystal oscillator to date. The VCS3, designed in a 3.2mm x 2.5mm hermetically sealed ceramic package, is 77% smaller than today's standard 7mm x 5mm packaging and provides customers in the data storage, telecommunications, networking and wireless industries with a small footprint product that can be sampled in any custom frequency in as few as 48 hours. The company is showcasing the VCS3 along with its entire solutions portfolio for WiMAX applications in Booth 539 at WiMAX World USA 2007 from September 25-27 in Chicago.
Vectron's VCS3 takes advantage of the industry's latest technological advances in ASIC development, leveraging a high Q crystal resonator in conjunction with a high performance synthesizer ASIC to create CMOS outputs as high as 200MHz.
"Our VCS3 is the first in a series of devices that will take advantage of this ASIC technology," said Mario Saucedo, Director of Products for Vectron's Hudson location. "Leveraging 50 years of industry experience, Vectron is committed to continual, quality-driven innovation that meets evolving customer needs and leads to a tangible bottom-line impact. Moving forward, we will continue to work in conjunction with our customers to ensure that future product advancements map to their business requirements and utilize the industry's most current technology."
The VCS3 crystal oscillator utilizes a proprietary testing and programming technology that allows samples to be shipped in as little as 48 hours and in production volumes in two weeks. The device is manufactured and tested to meet Vectron's stringent quality and reliability standards based on MIL-STD-883.
Additional features include:
-- Commercial (-10 degrees to 70 degrees Celsius) and industrial (-40 degrees to 85 degrees Celsius) temperature ranges
-- 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.8V supply voltage
-- Stability performance up to 25ppm
