APCON Announces New Release of TITAN Software

Version 1.5 of APCON's interface software now optimized for both Enterprise and data center monitoring

WILSONVILLE, Ore., Sept. 25 -- APCON, Inc., the leader in physical layer switch solutions today announced that it has released version 1.5 of its popular TITAN software. Offering a single point of control for the connectivity of numerous network devices, TITAN is now optimized for use within both test lab and Enterprise network infrastructures.

New to this release of TITAN is support for Ethernet-based networks, which enables the software to serve a wider variety of monitoring deployments and network applications. Other robust features, which introduce several industry firsts, boost the program's functionality and ease-of-use. Those include:

o TITAN is first to automatically check for compatibility between devices, assuring a common rate and matching protocol.
o TITAN is also first to provide error messages when connections fail. Errors have always been detected, but never before has the system notified the user.
o When connecting several multi-rate devices, TITAN automatically selects the highest rate common to both devices.
o TITAN's port tapping, which has always been unlimited, now features easy-to-read icons and graphics.
o Output is now available in delimited format, which is readily adaptable for scripting and automation.
o TITAN offers customizable task menus for individual system users.

"Once again, APCON proves it has the industry-leading network management tool by enabling managers to more easily and efficiently leverage network resources across a distributed infrastructure," said APCON President and CEO Richard Rauch. "These new features combine to create an extremely powerful operational tool for the ever-increasing complexity of today's networks."

TITAN facilitates easy-to-understand connections of multiple APCON and other third-party physical layer switches, creating a limitless virtual switch architecture capable of supporting thousands of ports.

This new release builds upon earlier versions, which include such features as:

o Device wizards to simplify setup and configuration
o A "find" tool that highlights a device in large complex topologies
o Device indicators that instantly show port availability
o Enhanced logging and reporting
