Appleton Upgrades Mercmaster III Emergency Battery Pack with Higher Wattage Capabilities
ROSEMONT, IL, AUGUST 23, 2007 - Appleton announced today the upgrade of its Mercmaster III Emergency Battery Pack luminaire to better address emergency lighting requirements in hazardous industrial locations, such as oil refineries, chemical plants and foundries, where explosive gases may be present.
The Mercmaster III Emergency Battery Pack, now featuring an electronic ballast suited for higher wattage lamps up to 84W, is one of the highest rated emergency lighting fixture currently on the market.
Designed to provide "instant on" emergency lighting in walkways, catwalks, stairs and aisles in the event of a blackout, the fixture is also UL listed for continuous and semi-continuous normal usage in industrial areas prone to excessive moisture, severe weather conditions, dirt, dust and corrosion. It comes enclosed and gasketed for superior environmental protection, plus features an epoxy-powder coat finish that offers nearly three-times the corrosion-resistant protection of standard painted finishes.
To broaden its suitability, available optics include: globe, refractor (NEMA II or V) and an enclosed reflector. Mounting holds include a cone-shaped pendant, standard pendant and wall, along with a 25° angle and straight stanchion.
The Mercmaster III Emergency Battery Pack is UL Listed for Simultaneous Exposure, Class I, Div. 2 and Class II, Div. 1 locations and for outdoor, wet locations.
