"The ability to safely measure temperatures of heat generating equipment, such as diesel engines and exhaust components, is an essential part of preventative maintenance programs and a valuable tool for troubleshooting potential heat problems", notes Paul. If the temperature of the outer face of a blanket is abnormally high, this could be an indication that the blankets has lost its effectiveness and needs to be replaced", added Paul.
Firwin offers 3 different models of infrared thermometers, depending on the temperature range of the application. The higher end model can monitor temperatures as high as 1832 ° F (1000 ° C), while the lower end model, intended for industrial applications, is limited to 518° F (270 ° C).
