Precision Cooling System is offered in 3 upflow models.


September 14, 2007 - Available in capacities of 28, 35, and 42 kW, Liebert DS(TM) systems provide support for applications that require cooling delivered from top of unit (upflow). Use of digital scroll compressors allows capacities to adapt to room condition changes as small as ±1°F and ±1% RH, and Paradenser condenser system permits use of green refrigerants. Liebert iCOM(TM) control system, which provides diagnostic and maintenance support, also enables multiple units to communicate and work together.

Emerson Network Power Introduces Three New Models of the Liebert DS(TM) Precision Cooling System


First upflow configurations extend application beyond raised floor environments

Columbus, Ohio [September 11, 2007] - Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity(TM), today announced the availability of three new models of the Liebert DS precision cooling system. Previously available in only downflow configurations, the new Liebert DS models provide support for applications that require cooling delivered from the top of the unit (upflow) with capacities of 28 kW, 35 kW and 42 kW.

With this extension, virtually any precision cooling application can benefit from the advanced controls, variable capacity and easy transition to green refrigerants that are provided by the Liebert DS system.

"The Liebert DS represents the next-generation of precision cooling system with features that provide more efficient computer-grade control of room temperature, humidity and air quality in critical facilities," said Ron Spangler, senior product manager for the Liebert DS at Emerson Network Power. "This new family of upflow models extends the application of the Liebert DS beyond the raised floor to any environment that requires precise, highly reliable environmental control."

Evolving from the Liebert Deluxe Systems that pioneered mission-critical cooling in 1965, the Liebert DS is the first and only precision cooling system to use digital scroll compressors, which allow unit capacities to quickly adapt to changing room conditions. The equipment is capable of responding to changes as small as +/- 1 degree Fahrenheit (Celsius) and +/- 1 percent RH (relative humidity). As a result, the Liebert DS can be precisely matched to the exact requirements of the room at any time, creating significant energy savings and better protection of business-critical applications.

The Liebert DS also takes advantage of the Liebert iCOM(TM) control system, which provides advanced diagnostic and maintenance support and enables multiple units to communicate and work together as a system to precisely control temperature and humidity across a room. The iCOM setup wizard automatically sets up all the units in a room from a single location so the efficiency of the entire cooling system can be optimized.

The Liebert DS also features a patented Paradenser condenser system that enables units to use green refrigerants with no loss in capacity, compared to conventional refrigerants.
