IDT Introduces Industry's Lowest Power, Smallest Package PCI Express Switches for PC, Embedded and Consumer Applications

PCIe System Interconnect Solutions Optimized for Applications Ranging from Consumer Printers to Enterprise-class Servers

SAN JOSE, Calif., - September 4, 2007 - IDT(TM) (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; NASDAQ: IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, today announced five new PCI Express® (PCIe®) switches optimized to solve system I/O connectivity challenges in PC, embedded and consumer applications. The devices, which range from a 3-lane, 3-port switch to an 8-lane, 5-port switch, leverage the IDT expertise in high-speed switching while using the PCI Express standard to allow the seamless interconnect of processing, storage and networking system elements in a power-efficient manner. The new switches are optimized to address the specific I/O connectivity challenges faced by systems requiring both low lane and low port counts in embedded medical, automotive, PC and consumer applications.

The new industry's smallest PCIe switches, offered by IDT via a quad flat no-lead (QFN) package, are also the industry's lowest power consuming devices. Available in multiple package options for greater flexibility in customer and end-user applications, the devices reduce customers' total cost of ownership by minimizing system thermal management requirements. Further, the PCI switches have the smallest form factor currently available in the market today, and thus further reduce total cost of ownership.

"We have brought to market more than just the smallest PCIe devices with the lowest possible power consumption. We're making serial connectivity available for PC, consumer and embedded applications that were previously unable to take advantage of the benefits of serial connectivity due to price-point, excessive power consumption and board real estate limitations," said Mario Montana, vice president and general manager of the IDT Serial Switching Division. "We continue to work closely with our customers to offer them the PCIe switching solutions they need, along with an optimal blend of power, performance per watt and package size."

The new devices provide PC, embedded and consumer system architects with a broad set of five solutions for the connectivity needs unique to their designs. The family is PCIe specification 1.1 compliant and features devices with two to four downstream x1 connections to enable I/O connectivity of key endpoints that have migrated from PCI to PCIe and the ability to select upstream connectivity from x1, x2 or x4 to match system throughput requirements. Each device is designed for high performance with a low latency, cut-through architecture, deep buffering and support for large maximum payload sizes to afford designers performance headroom to adapt to rapidly changing market requirements characteristic of consumer applications.

Each member of the IDT PCIe family of switches has a dedicated evaluation and development kit for device testing and analysis, and system emulation. Each kit consists of a hardware evaluation board with representative upstream and downstream connectivity, and an IDT-developed, GUI-based software environment that enables the designer to tune system and device configurations to meet system requirements.

Moreover, to ensure that each OEM system design is optimized for production and meets its time to market objectives, IDT provides customers with extensive, collaborative technical support, including system modeling and signal integrity analyses, and schematic and layout review services.

All of the new devices are currently sampling. For additional information, including pricing and specific sampling schedule, visit www.IDT.com/go/pciexpress_m
