Press Force Modules from Cincinnati Test Systems, Inc. Feature Integrated Force and Displacement Sensors

Cleves, Ohio- Cincinnati Test Systems, Inc. has recently introduced a complete line of precision electromechanical servo assembly press modules. Designated the APM Standard and APMH Compact, these units provide the precision, reliability and control required for high quality assembly operations.

The APM and compact APMH press parameters are monitored and controlled through the Cincinnati Test System SAM 300 Signature Analysis Module. Easy integration of the servo press modules with the SAM 300 ensures precision quality control even in crowded assembly cells where space is at a premium. This combination is easily implemented in most manufacturing operations, where precision assembly and verification record keeping are required.

Suitable for push or pull operation, these precision electromechanical presses cover a range of force from 1 to 400kN (225 to 90,000 lbf), with strokes from 130 to 400 mm (5.1 inches to 15.75 inches). The APM Standard and APMH Compact press force modules feature either a strain gage or Piezo type force sensor in combination with an absolute optical encoder that requires no homing routine as the displacement sensor.

Features and Specifications Include:

o Short cycle times due to high process speeds
o Repeatability better than 0.0004" (0.01mm)
o Quick force limitation
o High overload protection (150%) for load cell
o Easy part programming through the SAM 300 Signature Analysis Module.
o Integrated documentation function
o Simple wall and flange assembly
o Built-in holding brake standard on APMH models
o Simple force windows set up
o Wide range of window and test method types
