Microsemi Announces Highest Power Transistor for TCAS Avionics Transmitters

Irvine, CA, August 14, 2007 Microsemi Corporation (NASDAQ: MSCC), a leading manufacturer of high performance analog mixed signal integrated circuits and high reliability semiconductors, has introduced the industry's highest power transistor for TCAS avionics transmitters.

Designated the TCS1200, Microsemi's new Class C biased, bipolar transistor provides 1200 watts of output power at 1030MHz, with 32uS, 2% pulsing. It runs on 52 volts, making it easy to design with existing 50-52 volt TCAS power supplies. The die utilize gold metallization and integral emitter ballast resistors for maximum reliability.

"The TCS1200 reinforces Microsemi's leadership position in power transistors for avionics applications," said Jim Zazkowski, Manager of Avionics and Defense Communications in Santa Clara, CA.

"Now our customers can create very high power TCAS transmitters without the complexity and expense of combining many 500-600W power transistors. We do not see any competitor today having close to Microsemi's breadth of portfolio and performance capabilities in pulsed power transistors," he added.

Production quantities are available now through authorized distributors or direct from the factory. At quantities of 100 pieces, the unit price is $444.44. Datasheets are available on the Microsemi website: www.microsemi.com.
