GE Inspection Technologies Adds 8.4mm probe to Everest XLG3

Interchangeable probes offer a flexible inspection solution in one VideoProbe
system

Skaneateles Falls, N.Y. - August 7, 2007. GE Inspection Technologies announces the expansion of its Everest XLG3 VideoProbe product line, offering end-users increased flexibility to fulfill their inspection needs. The XLG3 now offers a full range of probes in three diameters: 3.9mm, 6.1mm and the new 8.4mm. The interchangeable probes offer a flexible inspection solution in one VideoProbe system. The multiple XLG3 probes allow fast changes during inspection and more equipment utilization.

Key applications for the XLG3's include large turbine inspections, large tank and vessel inspections, airframe inspections and large pipe and header inspections.

The 8.4mm probe delivers the best image quality yet from the XLG3. The probes have twice the light output than the 6.1mm probes, which equates to four times the light output from competitive scopes.

"The XLG3's 8.4mm probe provides industry leading image quality for better probability of detection," said Ed Hubben, Global Product Manager for the XLG3, GE Inspection Technologies. "Consequently, users can detect problems and verify safety quicker."

GE's Everest XLG3 system is a video borescope that offers a new way of enhancing inspection productivity. Advanced features include improved image quality, QuickChange(TM) probes that quickly reconfigure probe diameter and length, real-time data management and network connectivity for collaboration during live inspections.
