Right Angle Drive accommodates various applications.

August 17, 2007 - Exhibiting rigidity due to planetary stage on output side, LPK+ is supplied in aluminum housing and withstands timing belt pre-tension. There is minimal wear and constant torsional backlash, limited to less than 10 arc min and peak speed of 6,000 rpm. Five 5 sizes are available with acceleration torques to 250 Nm, and gearhead comes with 10 reduction ratios from i = 3 to i = 100. LPK+ can optionally be supplied with alpha rack-and-pinion system and alpha shaft couplings.

New Right Angle from Alpha Adds Value and Versatility

With its sleek design, LPK+ combines real advantages for a variety of applications:

- Cartesian robots with a timing belt drive, e.g. in palletizers and loading/unloading robots: LPK+ assures high rigidity due to its planetary stage on the output side, withstands high timing belt pre-tension and owing to its right-angle design - requires only minimal installation space.

- XY axes with a rack-and-pinion drive in medium-precision flatbed machines: LPK+ unites reliable, efficient precision with a high power density, thus reducing the weight of traversing axes.

- Positioning feed rate: LPK+ merges efficient precision with an extremely rugged design.

- High-speed axes for feeding, cutting, slotting, erecting, sealing, etc. in packaging machines: High speeds facilitated by high efficiency and the right-angle stage in an aluminum housing form the basis for high productivity. Almost zero wear and constant torsional backlash permit consistently high-end product quality.

LPK+ is available in five sizes with acceleration torques up to 250 Nm, torsional backlash limited to < 10 arc minutes and a peak speed of 6000 rpm. The gearhead comes with ten reduction ratios from i = 3 to i = 100, with a 1:1 ratio in the LK+. LPK+ can optionally be supplied with the alpha rack-and-pinion system and alpha shaft couplings. From positioning feed axes, motorized auxiliary axes, heavy-duty loading axes and economical rotary axes, the LPK+ is a versatile performer in any application that must meet exacting productivity and reliability requirements yet still remain affordable.

The innovators in servo gear technology, alpha continue to provide solutions which are the most advanced in the industry, making machines run faster, more efficient and more productive. alpha's product range includes several series of precision gear reducers, servo couplings and various rack and pinion systems to fit any application. alpha is a member of the WITTENSTEIN group, recognized globally as a leader in motion control.
