Schreiner Protech Develops Special Protection Film to Replace Plastic Plugs and Tape
Protective Cover Label Film Significantly Simplifies the Manufacturing Process
SOUTHFIELD, MI - July 23, 2007 - Schreiner ProTech today announced the development of an efficient solution to closing component openings in the production process. The protective film is more effective and ensures cleanliness as opposed to conventional solutions (i.e. plastic / rubber plugs or tape). Components include automotive transmissions, anti-lock brake systems, various engine parts and other metal machine components that require protection from contamination during shipment. The cover labels benefit companies in the automotive, electronic, industrial, manufacturing and construction sectors.
Schreiner protection films are suitable for all applications requiring temporary or permanent protection of a component from contamination or damage. They can be used as scratch protection for displays in electronic devices- like on cellular or mobile phones - and as cover labels protecting components in service during the production process. Protection labels ensure cleanliness during processing, transportation, and storage while leading to longer component life and lower warranty costs.
"The special film is a more efficient and convenient alternative to closing component openings in machine parts," says Steve Pasbjerg, Officer and Director of Sales for Schreiner ProTech North America. "It simplifies the production process by eliminating the hassle of manually installing rubber or plastic plugs while ensuring a cleaner, longer lasting component."
Prior to the development of this protective film, standardized rubber and plastic plugs had to be manually placed to achieve closure in assembly components. With Schreiner's new solution, the cover labels can be automatically installed through dispensers that can adapt to meet individual application requirements. A key advantage of the label is that it can be easily peeled off without leaving any residue or damage from external influences. Another benefit is the ability to print the cover labels with process control data, warning and processing instructions.
