Swell Latch facilitates opening/closing of access panels.

August 20, 2007 - Suited for use on access panels, quick release swell latch attaches to outer panel via rubber gasket and acorn nut screwed onto die cast zinc threaded actuator shaft. Shaft assembly passes through hole on mating panel. When the latch is actuated, rubber gasket is compressed and swells outward to capture mating panel. This results in secure and vibration-resistant connection. Flip of latch, which is insert molded to be fully reversible, releases outer panel.

New & Improved Swell Latch - Patent Pending

Innovative Components, Inc. announces the introduction of a unique quick release swell latch designed for use on access panels such as furnace filters and automotive storage compartments, or any application requiring a fast, easy, blind fastener. The latch is attached to the outer panel via a rubber gasket and an acorn nut screwed onto the die cast zinc threaded actuator shaft. The shaft assembly passes through a hole on the mating panel. When the latch is actuated, the rubber gasket is compressed and swells outward to capture the mating panel. The result is a secure and vibration resistant connection. A simple flip of the latch releases the outer panel. Unlike other swell latches that have uni-directional flippers that are pinned in place, Innovative's design is insert molded to be both fully reversible and extra durable. The latch accepts panel thicknesses from 0.XXX" to 0.XXX" . The standard color is black, but custom colors are offered. Innovative Components, Inc. is a manufacturer of plastic knobs, quick release pins, and wire rope lanyards.
