Hosedown Stations safely blend steam and cold water.
August 9, 2007 -
STVM-iLoc steam/water hosedown stations provide hot water by blending steam and cold water to required set temperature for washing down walls, floors, process equipment, and vehicles. Automatic station shutdown turns off system if temperature is raised 15°F above maximum set temperature or if cold water supply is interrupted. Designed to reduce effects of scaling and mineral build-up, vortex mixing valve cartridges are removed using 1˝ in. open-ended wrench.

SSI Introduces Enhanced Hosedown Station
BLYTHEWOOD, SC-Spirax Sarco, Inc., (SSI) announces the release of the new STVM-iLoc line of steam/water hosedown stations. The stations provide hot water for washdown by quickly and safely blending steam and cold water to the required set temperature-ideal for washing down walls, floors, process equipment and vehicles in industries such as food & beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical and distributing.
The new STVM-iLoc stations deliver an easy "set it and forget it" setup with the iLoc ball valve interlocking system. The quick unit start-up is ensured because there is no need to re-adjust the desired temperature settings each time the unit is to be used for washdown. Plus, regardless of low water or steam pressures, the stations will continue to work.
As safety is a concern with steam and hot water, the set temperature has the added benefit of deterring users from using the station at a higher temperature. The hosedown stations also feature automatic station shutdown, which turns off the system if the temperature is raised 15°F above the units' maximum set temperature or if the cold water supply is interrupted.
Maintenance is simple with the STVM-iLoc patent design vortex mixing valve cartridge, which reduces the effects of scaling and mineral buildup. When the cartridges need to be removed for cleaning, users only need a standard, 1-1/2-in. open-ended wrench. The cartridges are also interchangeable by exchanging drop-in cartridges.
