RedSky Launches Broadcast Alert(TM) Service for College Campuses, Enterprise at ACUTA Conference
New service quickly sends emergency and other alert notifications to cell phones and computers via SMS, email
HOLLYWOOD, Fla., July 30 /-- RedSky Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of automated E911 solutions to the enterprise, launched today a new Broadcast Alert(TM) service that makes it possible for emergency and security personnel to quickly reach large groups of people with emergency and other alert messages. The company launched the new service at the Association for Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education (ACUTA) annual conference in Hollywood, FL.
Broadcast Alert is powered by RedSky's Location Information Server, and leverages the Emergency On-site Notification feature in the award-winning RedSky E911 Manager application to deliver SMS text messages to cell phones as well as email messages to desktop and laptop computers.
"Recent emergency events on college campuses point out the absolute requirement that administrators and emergency personnel be able to reach thousands of students and faculty quickly with a targeted message," said Nick Maier, RedSky's Senior Vice President. "Every student has a cell phone and, with Broadcast Alert, every student can be reached as quickly as you can send an SMS message."
School districts and higher education institutions that want to quickly reach a dense population of cell phone-enabled students, faculty and staff represent the primary market for Broadcast Alert. Large businesses, especially those with multi-building campus environments and mobile users, also will benefit from the new service.
Broadcast Alert delivers police emergency alerts, weather and traffic alerts, and building closure notices. Regardless of content, messages can be created and sent in seconds to thousands of subscribers who register their device with their university, school or employer.
Broadcast Alert is immediately available in version 5.4 of E911 Manager, which is integrated and certified with Avaya, Nortel and Cisco call processing platforms.
