Automated waste cart/container cleaning system uses EPA-approved biodegradable fluids to clean, sanitize, disinfect, degrease, and deodorize garbage carts in less than 15 seconds. Blast-N-Clean's technology, built on hybrid washing truck, picks up empty dirty garbage containers with robotic arm, turns them upside down, and blasts them clean with biodegradable fluids. This process is isolated and spills no wastewater into surrounding streets.

New Environmental Services Technology Unveiled at California Resource Recovery Association Trade Show
SAN PEDRO, Calif., July 31 -- In a demonstration held today at the California Resource Recovery Association's 31st annual conference and trade show, Blast-N-Clean LLC unveiled its patented automated waste cart/container cleaning system, which uses EPA-approved biodegradable fluids to clean, sanitize, disinfect, degrease, and deodorize garbage carts in less than 15 seconds.
The technology seeks to reduce urban runoff from the household washing of garbage containers. The runoff of food and pet waste, solvents, paints, and other chemicals into our streets -- by the simple act of washing a garbage container at home -- can lead to the transport of untreated pollutants into America's storm sewer system and directly into our oceans, lakes, rivers, and streams. In addition, the system also works to alleviate community issues related to dirty garbage containers, such as fly infestation and repulsive smells.
Blast-N-Clean's technology -- built on a hybrid washing truck -- is designed to follow existing private or public waste collection trucks. The truck picks up dirty garbage containers with a robotic arm, turns the empty carts upside down inside a special washing chamber, and blasts them clean with biodegradable fluids approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. Not one drop of dirty wastewater ever hits the street in the process.
"We're excited to present this new technology to the California Resource Recovery Association and its members," said Terry Whitlock, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blast-N-Clean LLC. "Through implementing our system, public and private sector entities can apply real solutions to household wastewater runoff issues and improve community cleanliness in the process."
