Pioneer Surgical Technology Announces the Release of Its Quantum Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery Rodding System

Pioneer to offer novel pedicle screw locking system

MARQUETTE, Mich., July 24 /-- Pioneer Surgical Technology today announced the introduction of its Quantum Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (MIS) Rodding System for the lumbar spine. This system is designed for one or two level fixation and uses Quantum(R) Polyaxial Screws and Locking Caps along with Titanium Alloy Rods.

The system is designed to increase surgeon control in MIS. The Rod insertion facilitates easy Rod passage, even with variations in Screw head positioning. Tactile, less-invasive instrumentation helps control compression, distraction, and reduction. By localizing with traditional methodology, i.e. Cannulated Probes and Taps, the new system enables safe positioning of the implant.

"As a surgeon-driven company, Pioneer works closely with practicing MIS surgeons and appreciates the opportunity to offer an improved MIS system to spinal surgeons and their patients," said Matthew N. Songer, M.D., Chairman and CEO of Pioneer Surgical Technology. "This system is designed to reduce operative time and increase operating room flexibility."

MIS system features and benefits also include its MIS or mini-open options which offer intraoperative flexibility to convert to an open procedure at any stage. Its simple-to-use and familiar instrumentation and straightforward rod passage aid in ease of use. The system includes Polyaxial Screws and Locking Caps and a reusable hard bone Jamshidi with Drill.
