Newly Designed, Full Featured, Software Enhanced Cut to Length System

ISO 9001 certified TAK Enterprises Inc. announces the availability of a significantly advanced feed and cut-off system for wire and narrow strip applications incorporating an Allen Bradley(TM) controller and many new optional system enhancements.

The full-featured system operates off a 5 ¾" industrial touch screen that is part of an AB configured PLC which is mounted to an ergonomic stand. The new features are listed below.
1. Simple & clearer method of setting-up cut to length projects.
2. Extended I/O - allows for expanded capabilities, interface and remote operation of the system
a. Monitor material line or wire for snag or break condition
b. Monitor upstream or downstream alarm conditions.
c. Master control of process or slave to process
d. "Loop Control" interface for use with rotary wire straighteners
e. "End of Cycle" and "end of Batch" I/O capabilities for upstream processes.
3. A controllable through put rate due to "programmable" speed setting capability.
4. Direct reading for parts per minute run speed indication.
5. Pass word protection for sensitive program areas.
6. Alarm identification - Optional "Pro-Pack" feature required.
7. "Batch" cutting capability.
8. Alarm history information.
9. Maintenance counter for establishing tool sharpening & rework schedules.
10. Faster turn around on controller repairs.
11. Ethernet expandable.
12. Increased number of "skips" for producing longer length parts ( up to 300ft ).
13. Local or remote "Pause & Resume" capability
14. Timed or Sensor controlled cutting - Enhanced feature for special applications.

The new systems can be enhanced with several new options like the "Fine Adjustment Device" which allows for the ability to precisely adjust the cut length "on the fly" in increments as small as .0002". The "Pro-Pack" option provides for complete system monitoring through the inclusion of several sensors that can be used to detect such things as low air, material snag, out of material state, and many other conditions.

Since the existing system design already allows the system to cut lengths up to 300 ft, diameters up to .375", a very wide variety of materials, and a wide range of shapes; the main limitation of the system was its programming and controller operation. This has now been satisfied by the inclusion of the AB controller and newly developed operating software.

TAK Enterprises, headquartered in Bristol, CT, designs, manufactures, and markets precision wire straighteners, cleaner / lubricators, custom feed and cut-off systems, fine wire payoffs, servo feed systems, and a variety of time saving machine accessories for managing linear material. TAK was founded in 1981 by Thomas Kunkler and Reinhart ( Butch ) Hermann and was awarded ISO 9001 certification in May 2003.
