Ceramic Material is suited for jigs and brazing fixtures.
July 17, 2007 -
Resistant to chemicals, oxidation, wear, and thermal shock, M120F Aluminum Silicate can be machined into intricate shapes and held to close dimensional tolerances. Formulation facilitates machinability in product's green state, and working temperature is rated up to 1,150°C. Product is fully fired at high temperatures to create hard ceramic material, which makes it suited for use in brazing, alloying, soldering, welding, and glass sealing.

Wesgo/Duramic Products' M120F Ceramic Material Ideal for Jigs and Brazing Fixtures
Wesgo/Duramic Products, a division of Morgan Advanced Ceramics (MAC), offers its M120F Aluminum Silicate. This durable ceramic can be machined into intricate shapes and held to very close dimensional tolerances, making M120F an excellent choice for jigs and brazing fixtures.
M120F is a cleaner alternative to many other fixture materials. Due to its ability to be easily machined in its green state, it also proves to be a very cost effective solution for many of today's brazing fixture needs. M120F is fully fired at high temperatures to create a hard, durable ceramic material, which makes it ideal for use in brazing, alloying, soldering, welding and glass sealing.
M120F provides a number of benefits, including excellent chemical, oxidation and wear resistance. In addition, this material offers superior thermal shock resistance and mechanical strength. M120F also has a high working temperature, up to 1150° C.
The combination of aluminum silicate and controlled heat treatment allows Wesgo/Duramic to manufacture complicated ceramic parts that are not available using other types of machining methods. Components can often be manufactured in a single process to create a net shape without the need for secondary machining. As tooling is typically not required, M120F is best for the custom design of parts with extremely tight tolerances.
