Inspection System can measure stack-up length.

July 6, 2007 - Featuring swivel touch screens and Windows XP OS, automated inspection systems are available in 2-, 6-, or 8-laser configurations and can be outfitted with eddy current and vision add-ons to provide complete part inspection. Integrated length and acceleration analyzer can measure stack-up lengths, head height, partial lengths, and overall length to +.0015 in. with zero mechanical adjustments. Manufacturers can inspect products dimensionally to part prints at speeds to 300 pieces/min.

Mectron Debuts New Stack-up Length Measurement Capability

Mectron Inspection Systems is pleased to present its full line of automated inspection systems utilizing Windows XP operating systems and swivel touch screens. Inspection systems are available in two, six or eight laser configurations and can be outfitted with eddy current and vision add-ons to provide complete part inspection. Mectron's newly integrated tilt laser array plate to accommodate products with extreme cosine error, and a newly developed length and acceleration analyzer.

The length and acceleration analyzer will provide better feedback information (tolerance wise) and will now be able to measure stack-up lengths, head height, partial lengths, and overall length to + .0015" with zero mechanical adjustments.

The QuAlifier Q-5000 combination of 360° laser inspection for dimensional measurement and MI-9500 Magnetic Imagery inspection for metallurgical defects create the most complete high-speed systems available in the world. Measurement capabilities of .0002" on diameters and 0015" on stack-up lengths highlights the many features Mectron systems can inspect.
