New! Stainless Steel CyberLocks Built to Resist Corrosion

Videx, Inc. (www.videx.com), an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of access control products, announces that CyberLock® electronic cylinders are now manufactured with stainless steel components. Stainless steel is non-corrosive and does not require plating. The use of stainless steel parts enhances the performance of CyberLock cylinders in the wet, corrosive environments found at water treatment facilities.

Cylinder components that are now made of stainless steel include the front inner core, lock face, and contact pins. In addition, the contact pins on the CyberKey® are also made of stainless steel, for communication between the keys and locks in corrosive environments.

Terry Jones, assistant project manager for USFilter, says, "CyberLock has done everything that I was told it would do, and more." Jones states that the key features of CyberLock are that lost keys can be easily blocked, access to locks can be individually programmed in each person's key, a complete audit trail from the keys and the locks can be retrieved, and last, a single key can be used to open all the different types of locks at the facility. The inherent problems of maintaining a mechanical key system, including re-keying and re-coring, are tasks relegated to the past. Says, Jones, "We have been able to implement and maintain an increased security plan when alert levels issued by the government change rapidly."

CyberLock electronic cylinders convert existing mechanical lock hardware and padlocks into a complete access control system without the need for hardwiring. With CyberLock, water plants have the ability to set access schedules and view audit reports from the locks and keys. CyberLocks can be installed on office doors, gates, computer cabinets that house control systems for a plant, chemical feed areas, and in padlocks.
