New Vantage® Gloves Offer Superior Cut Protection Without Bulk

RED BANK, NJ (June 27, 2007) - Ansell introduces Vantage® series gloves with integrated cut protection technology and revolutionary engineered yarns for superior cut protection, comfort and wear. The new lightweight gloves also offer abrasion resistance, grip and dexterity without the bulk associated with heavier aramid fiber hand protection products.

"Vantage gloves provide ANSI Level 4 cut protection and are versatile enough to use in a variety of applications where employees handle sharp parts and materials," said Larry Rappoport, Ansell Marketing Manager, Knitted/Clothing. "These hand protection products have a degree of flexibility that is uncommon for this level of cut protection, helping to reduce hand fatigue and increase productivity."

The Vantage glove series is comprised of four individual styles, each with its own distinct advantages and applications. All styles may be laundered for extended wear and lower replacement costs.

Vantage 75-781 gloves are heavyweight terry loop-in with KEVLAR® fiber and a 100 percent KEVLAR-reinforced thumb crotch. Offering extra cushioning and comfort during even the most demanding uses, Vantage 75-781 gloves are ideal for handling heavy, sharp-edged objects in press and welding applications. The product also protects hands from the heat.

Vantage 70-761 gloves are mediumweight knit with KEVLAR fiber and a design that fits the gloves to the natural contours of the hand. With a 100 percent KEVLAR-reinforced thumb crotch, Vantage 70-761 gloves assure maximum durability in this high-wear area. They also offer excellent dexterity for metal finishing, press/body shop applications, automated welding feeding and assembly.

Durable Vantage 70-765 gloves include a leather pad double-stitched with KEVLAR fiber for puncture and snag protection. Mediumweight knit with KEVLAR fiber, the 70-765 gloves provide comfortable cut protection for press and welding applications and any task that requires workers to handle heavy oily pieces with sharp or irregular edges. The gloves also provide intermittent heat protection.

Vantage 70-860 gloves contain Dyneema® fiber for excellent abrasion resistance and long-lasting performance. The gloves are plated with soft yarn inside for the coolness and comfort needed for workers to wear the product all day long. Vantage 70-860 gloves are appropriate for applications that require a smooth, thin glove with abrasion resistance, such as metal finish inspection.

During end user trials, Vantage series gloves outlasted the leading cut protection gloves by at least two to one, with users reporting the gloves laundered well. Vantage series gloves are suited to a variety of industries including automotive, white goods, metal fabrication, pulp and paper, steel and public utilities.
