Chomerics Introduces SOFT-SHIELDŽ EMI Gasket with UL 94 V-0 Flammability Rating
June 11, 2007 - Woburn, Massachusetts - Chomerics, a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE: PH), announced the introduction of SOFT-SHIELDŽ 4850 EMI multi-planar gasket with a flammability rating of UL 94 V-0. This conductive soft foam based gasket is ideal for use in consumer and commercial electronics, telecom and information technology applications such as backplanes, I/O panels, and access panel cabinet seals. SOFT-SHIELD 4850 is certified to the rigorous demands of UL 94 V-0, a requirement in many of today's telecom, computer and consumer electronics systems.
SOFT-SHIELD offers very low closure force for stable electrical performance, with excellent through-resistance and compression set properties. It incorporates silver plated fibers (no nickel material is used) and is fully RoHS compliant. A unique pressure sensitive adhesive optimizes adhesion and electrical interface resistance for high performance.
