Light Cure Adhesives suit bonding and potting applications.

June 19, 2007 - Designed to cure in seconds upon exposure to light in visible spectrum, Loctite® Indigo(TM) 3552 and 3553 feature viscosities of 200 and 3,500 cp, respectively. They are suited for use with UV-blocking clear and select colored substrates including translucent variations of blue, purple, gray, white, and green. Both acrylic adhesives are ISO 10993 biocompatibility tested, offer fluorescence for inspection, and adhere to various plastics including polycarbonate, PVC, and ABS.

Safe and Cost Effective Adhesive Technology for Bonding and Potting

Rocky Hill, Conn. - June 13, 2007....Henkel Corporation has introduced two Loctite® Indigo(TM) Visible Light Cure Adhesives designed to cure in seconds upon exposure to light in the visible spectrum. This technology delivers safe, efficient, immediate cure for a broad array of assembly applications.

Loctite® 3552 and 3553 Indigo(TM) Visible Light Cure Adhesives can be used in a wide range of industrial and medical device assembly applications, and are ideal for use with UV-blocking clear and select colored substrates including translucent variations of blue, purple, gray, white and green. Both products are ISO 10993 biocompatibility tested and offer excellent adhesion to various plastics including polycarbonate, PVC and ABS. In addition to general purpose bonding, Loctite® 3552 and 3553 Indigo(TM) Visible Light Cure Adhesives can be used for potting applications that require rapid cure to depths of 13 mm.

Loctite® 3552 Indigo(TM) Visible Light Cure Adhesives is a low viscosity (200 cP) formulation, while Loctite® 3553 Indigo Visible Light Cure Adhesives is a medium viscosity (3500 cP) adhesive. Both clear acrylic adhesives offer fluorescence for easy quality control inspection, and are suitable for bonding polycarbonate and other thermoplastics without causing stress cracking.

Loctite® Indigo(TM) Visible Light Cure Adhesives perform optimally when cured with the Loctite® Indigo(TM) CureJet(TM) LED system. This system emits no UV light and requires no venting or specialized protective equipment to ensure worker safety. The system provides consistent performance, long-term reliability, and lower overall operating/maintenance costs.
