Air Duct Smoke Detector targets data centers.

June 13, 2007 - Employing high-sensitivity laser sensor in air sampling duct housing, Model 7251DH, upon sensing sufficient smoke, initiates alarm signal at fire control panel monitoring detector. Proper steps can then be taken to identify source of concern and resolve it before activation of fire suppression systems or facility downtime. Detector meets needs of environments with high airflow and/or several air changes per hour, such as telecommunications facility or data center.

System Sensor Introduces New Laser Duct Smoke Detector

St. Charles, IL (June 1, 2007) - System Sensor's latest addition to its high sensitivity detection line-up is the 7251DH Intelligent Air Duct Smoke Detector. It combines System Sensor's high sensitivity laser sensor with its industry-leading smoke detection capability.

This new laser duct smoke detector meets the needs of businesses where high sensitivity detection is required in an environment with high air flow and/or several air changes per hour, such as a telecommunications facility or a data center. In areas such as these, it is very important to detect smoke at a very early warning stage
to identify an emergent concern and prevent loss of operations.

By employing a high sensitivity detector in an air sampling duct housing, the sensing can take place in a controlled manner in the return air stream. When the laser sensor in the 7251DH Intelligent Air Smoke Detector senses sufficient smoke, an alarm signal is initiated at the fire control panel monitoring the detector. At that point, proper steps can be taken to identify the source of the concern and resolve it before the activation of costly fire suppression systems or facility down time.
