Ringfeder Offers New Arcusaflex Flywheel Couplings

Westwood, NJ- Ringfeder Corporation is pleased to announce seven new Arcusaflex® flywheel coupling sizes for larger engine applications.

The flywheel couplings are now available in sizes AC 4.1, AC 4.9, AC 5.1, AC 6.1, AC 6.5, AC 13 and AC 13D. These new additions bring the total available to 21 different sizes, with torque ranges from 1,770 to 973,580 lb-in which corresponds to approximately 6500 kW at 1000 rpm. All Arcusaflex® couplings are now available in standard rubber as well as a silicone mixture to provide hear resistance in high temperature applications. Special configurations are available upon request.

"Some of our customers need more power from larger engines and we're helping filling that need by developing these larger coupling sizes," states Carl Fenstermacher, President of Ringfeder Corporation.

Arcusaflex® flywheel couplings meet European explosion protection standards set by ATEX 95 and are also certified to be used in hazardous locations (Categories M2, 2 + 3) according to the 64/9/EC directive.

Arcusaflex® couplings are highly flexible flywheel couplings for a torsionally soft connection between an internal combustion engine and the driven components of generators, compressors and pumps. A unique, rubber disc element is vulcanized to a choice of bolt-on sleeve or taper bushing hubs, providing extremely high torsional flexibility and shock absorption capability in reciprocating engine work environments that may experience high angular, axial and/or parallel misalignments. This combination is field-proven for over 20 years for applications with up to 140,000 pound-feet of torque and speeds up to 4,200 rpm.

Ringfeder Corporation markets a wide range of quality power transmission components and has been the industry leader in keyless shaft/hub technology for more than 36 years. Some other power transmission solutions provided by Ringfeder include shock absorbing devices, flexible elastometric couplings, flexible disc couplings and torque limiters along with other specialty and custom made products. These components are designed for use in machinery built for the industrial, woodworking, metalworking, oil & gas drilling, packaging food products, conveyor, machine tool, logging, printing and construction markets. They are also members of AEM (Association of Equipment Manufacturers), PTRA and the PTDA.
